The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) offers the prestigious David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health to a limited number of applicants for the MSc in Global Plant Health.
Eligibility:
- The candidate needs to have received an offer of admission to the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
- The candidate is a national of or resides in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory, according to the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, edition 2025-26 for admission in the 2025-26 academic year.
For 35% Scholarship:
- The offer of admission to the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health has been sent to the candidate.
- For admission into the 2025-26 academic year, the candidate does not hold a nationality from or residency in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as specified by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, edition 2025-26. For instance, based on this list, you are a citizen of and live in an upper-middle-class or higher-income country (such as the UK).
Application Process:
There is no need for a separate application; if a candidate satisfies the requirements, they will be immediately evaluated for the scholarship on a competitive basis.
Value of the Scholarship:
- The full cost of the tuition fee (£35,450 for 2025-26)
- Maintenance grant (exact value at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level to be determined for 2025-26; in 2024-23 it was £19,237)
- An additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts)
- Each 35% fee scholarship will cover up to 35% of the full cost of the tuition fee (35% of either £17,975 UK or £35,450 international fees for 2025-26)

The deadline to apply for the course is 30 May 2025 (for international applicants) and 29 August 2025 (for UK applicants).
