Applications are being accepted for the 2025 HIIA Future Leaders Program. Young professionals and students have a rare opportunity to study international relations and leadership while residing in Budapest, Hungary, through the HIIA leadership program 2025. The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs is providing this fascinating opportunity (HIIA). Participants will come from all around the world for the program, which will span from September 15 to December 15, 2025.

There is no application fee, and you can apply without having to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or any other language test. Young professionals under 30 and graduate students are eligible to enroll in the fully supported leadership program. You will visit prestigious institutions, participate in sessions led by experts, and discover Hungary’s rich cultural heritage for the four weeks. In Budapest, one of the most stunning and ancient towns in Europe, you will also get the opportunity to network with other young activists from around the globe.

The program pays for your overseas travel and gives you a monthly stipend to help with living expenses while you are in Hungary. This makes it a worthwhile experience, particularly for young people who have a strong interest in international leadership, foreign policy, and diplomacy. It’s an opportunity to develop, make connections, and take your first steps on the global scene—it’s more than just a learning experience.

Eligibility Criteria for HIIA Future Leaders Program 2025:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a recent graduate with at least a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or closely related) fields:

     

    • International Relations
    • Political Science
    • Philosophy
    • History
    • International Economics
  • Be under the age of 30 at the time of application
  • Have a strong interest in foreign policy and global affairs
  • Be able to commit to approx. 30 hours per week in person at HIIA’s office in Budapest
  • English fluency is required (but no language certificate like IELTS/TOEFL is needed)
  • Must be available from September 15 to December 15, 2025.
