The University of Luxembourg’s Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is pleased to offer a 2026 short-term fellowship opportunity. This two-month fellowship is intended especially to assist a scholar who is in danger by providing resources and a secure academic setting for further study in the areas of public, digital, or contemporary history.
C²DH is committed to doing top-notch research, analysis, and public dissemination in contemporary history as the University’s third interdisciplinary research center. The center actively supports cutting-edge digital tools and approaches for teaching and studying history while encouraging scholarly cooperation and global interchange.
C²DH hopes to provide researchers who are at risk of war, displacement, or threats with the chance to conduct an independent study through this fellowship. Applicants must match their research with the center’s focus areas and may be from anywhere in the world, including Palestine and Sudan. During their stay, fellows will be invited to present their work at a seminar or colloquium hosted at one of C²DH’s research departments.

Qualifications Standards
Candidates need to fulfill the following prerequisites:
Candidates must meet the Scholars at Risk Network’s definition of scholars at risk, which includes people who are threatened, harassed, imprisoned, or at risk from conflict in their nation of origin. must possess the necessary academic credentials in history or the humanities. It is expected of applicants to conduct independent research, preferably related to digital, public, or current history.
