The 2026 HZB International Summer Program in Germany
The 2026 HZB International Summer Program is currently accepting applications. The eight-week summer program is fully funded and will take place in Berlin from July 6 to August 28, 2026. The HZB summer program will be held at the HZB Campuses in Berlin. While working on their own research project, fellows will have the opportunity to cooperate directly with HZB scientists in the field. One benefit of the HZB International Summer Student Program (ISSP) is that it accepts applications from all around the world and doesn’t require IELTS or charge an application fee. Every year during the Summer Program in Germany, twenty graduate and undergraduate students work together and do research on the projects with the HZB scientists.

Eligibility Criteria:
- We accept students from all countries. Students from both EU and non-EU countries may apply.
- Engineering, biological sciences, environmental sciences, physics, chemistry, material science, structural biology, mathematics, or a related discipline must be your current field of study as an undergraduate.
- You should have completed at least two years of full-time university studies.
- You must be able to participate completely throughout the program.
- excellent English communication abilities.
- It is necessary to have a recommendation letter from a researcher or professor who is familiar with your academic work.
Program requirements:
- Participation is necessary throughout the entire duration.
- The working time is forty hours per week.
- an internship contract for eight weeks to work on your idea.
