The 2026 Sanctuary Scholarship at the University of Portsmouth
Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the university’s topic areas are eligible to apply for the University of Portsmouth 2026 Sanctuary Scholarship. The deadline for submitting your application is April 30, 2026. This scholarship, which is provided by the University of Portsmouth in Portsmouth, offers financial aid for educational costs in addition to full financing and tuition. Students from other countries may apply for this award. For an asylum seeker who plans to pursue an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree, the Sanctuary Scholarship covers all of their tuition expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates shouldn’t need help with housing or living expenses and should live close enough to the university to make the commute easy.
- In order to receive a supporting reference, applicants must be enrolled in a school, institution, or community organization.
- submitting an asylum claim, and they must not be eligible for Student Finance England.
- Applicants must have submitted an application to the UK Home Office for asylum or humanitarian protection.
- Additionally, candidates must possess an unconditional or conditional offer from the University of Portsmouth to enroll in an undergraduate program in September 2025.
- Applicants have been granted Discretionary or Limited Leave to Remain or some other form of temporary status as a result of an asylum application and are not eligible for funding from Student Finance England.
- Applicants must be the spouse, civil partner, or dependent of a person in the UK who is applying for asylum or humanitarian protection.
