The Humboldt Research Fellowship for 2026
PhD, Research Fellow, and Scientist degrees in every area of the institutions’ research are eligible for the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2025. The deadline for submitting your application is January 20, 2026. This fellowship, which is partially funded up to EUR 3,600 a month, is offered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This scholarship is available to all nationals, except German citizens.

Eligibility Criteria:
- be completed within six months after completing the PhD program (with a written statement of findings).
- have earned a PhD within the previous four years, or
- have peer-reviewed publications in respectable international journals or publishing companies.
General Requirements (For Both Categories):
- be postdoctoral or experienced researchers with above-average academic credentials.
- Be a foreign national (accessible to all countries but Germany)
- Have an academic host at a German research facility
- Observe the standards for moral and appropriate scientific behavior.
- not previously received a research scholarship or prize from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
Expert Researchers:
- have completed a PhD within the last 12 years.
- own an extensive publishing history that has been assessed using international standards.
