The University of Canterbury’s 2026 Brownlie Scholarship
A PhD in any of the university’s subjects is eligible for the University of Canterbury 2026 Brownlie Scholarship. The deadline for submitting your application is January 20, 2026. This scholarship, which is partially funded by the University of Canterbury, is worth NZD 5,000 each year. Applications for this award are open to all citizens.

- be immediately taken into account; no further application is required.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants who place top among all beneficiaries of a centrally financed UC Core Doctoral Scholarship during the award year are given the scholarship.
Benefits:
$5,000 for each 120 enrollment points per year, renewable up to 360 points.
