In September, the World Bank Group launched the Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP) 2026 application process. The World Bank is hiring young professionals with a variety of professional and academic backgrounds for the WBG YPP, which is a fantastic chance for an interesting career with the World Bank. The experience of the applicants should be pertinent to the goals and purview of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the World Bank, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Candidates must also be citizens of WBG member nations and operating nations.

Candidates are encouraged to apply if they exhibit a love for graduate school, a dedication to global development, relevant work experience, and the capacity to advance into influential leadership positions across institutions. Three organizations—the World Bank, the IFC, and MIGA—are represented in the WBG YPP, a combined and collaborative program of the two organizations. The program’s goal is to produce future leaders who can work well with others from different institutions to generate collaborative WBG solutions to development problems.

The YPP is a two-year leadership development program that initiates a five-year employment contract with the World Bank, IFC, or MIGA. Young Professionals begin the YPP in Washington, DC, engaging in intensive training that includes both on-the-job and classroom studies. The participants will start learning the fundamentals of leadership and development activities across institutions, as well as how to identify opportunities for collective impact.
