International Scholarships at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) 2024

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a political foundation, inspired by Christian democratic values, committed to fostering democracy and the rule of law, implementing social and market-economic structures, and promoting human rights in Europe and worldwide. In line with these principles, our Foundation awards scholarships to international master’s students and graduates to enable study and research at universities in Germany.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicants must be graduates or PhD holders.
• The applicants must exhibit good academic performance.
• The applicants must have good knowledge of the German language (B2 level).
• The applicants must be actively engaged in voluntary work.
• The applicants must plan to study a minimum of four semesters at any university in Germany.
• The applicants must support democracy, the rule of law, and human rights.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates must check in with the organization to find out the focus countries of the respective year.
• The candidates can submit an online application to be considered for the scholarship.
• Candidates living in Germany at the time of application can utilize the domestic selection procedure.

Value of the Scholarship:

• Selected candidates are awarded the following benefits:
  • Graduates (master’s or postgraduate students) receive a monthly scholarship of EUR 934.
  • After having obtained unconditional admission to doctoral studies at a German university, Ph.D. students receive a monthly scholarship of EUR 1,400.
  • Subsidized health care insurance up to the amount of EUR 120 per month.
  • A family allowance of EUR 276.
  • Children’s allowance of EUR 194 per month.
  • Fees resulting from courses at the university in Germany that are directly related to the studies can be refunded up to the amount of EUR 1,500 per semester.
