Young professionals from South and Central Asia are eligible to receive full financing under the Professional Fellows Exchange Program 2026. Five to six weeks are allotted for the fully sponsored exchange program. Emerging leaders from the US, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan are connected through the Professional Fellows for Governance and Society program to form networks, exchange ideas, and deepen their knowledge of public policy and governance. This program is supported by the U.S. Department of State and is run by World Learning. It helps fellows study good governance, share best practices in policymaking, and research the workings of American public institutions. The fully funded fellowship program seeks to enhance leadership skills, promote teamwork, and support sustainable development in the participants’ home countries.
Participants will be assigned to a U.S.-based organization relevant to their field during the two-way exchange program. Together with fellows from other nations, they will tour significant locations, participate in conversations with relevant stakeholders, attend professional meetings, and contribute to the Professional Fellows Congress in Washington, D.C. Through collaborative projects, the Professional Fellows program also provides an opportunity to improve democratic institutions and gain a deeper understanding of American culture and society. With fresh insights, international contacts, and ideas to promote policy and civil society endeavors, participants will return home. It is a unique platform for government leadership, learning, and connection.
