We are glad to provide two Equal Access Scholarships to undergraduates who are attempting to enter the UK as refugees. Note that in order to apply for this scholarship, you must first have applied to the University of York.
Eligibility criteria for the scholarship:
- Exclusively for international (non-EU) students.
- The student must have an offer, either unconditional or conditional, from the University of York for 2024. The student ought to have filed for asylum prior to submitting an application for admission.
- The student shouldn’t be able to get grants from the local government or student finance, for example.
Application Process:
- Step 1: Apply to the University of York to study an eligible undergraduate course
- Step 2: Complete an Access Scheme application if you are an asylum seeker
- Step 3: Apply for the Equal Access Scholarship
- Step 4: Your application outcome
Value / Benefits of the scholarship:
- a complete waiver of fees (you won’t have to pay any tuition)
- a maintenance award to assist with living expenses up to £12,300.
